Iran/U.S.: U.S. President Donald Trump Says Ceasefire Will Continue

U.S. President Donald Trump said that peace talks with Iran will continue after he announced that a ceasefire would take place between Israel and Hezbollah. He wrote on Truth Social, “Talks are continuing, at a rapid pace, with the Islamic Republic of Iran. Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

President Trum said that Israel and Hezbollah had agreed not to attack one another following calls he had made to leaders on both sides. He said, “I had a very productive call with Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu of Israel, and there will be no troops going to Beirut, and any troops that are on their way, have already been turned back.”

He also called Hezbollah, stating, “Likewise, through highly placed representatives, I had a very good call with Hezbollah, and they agreed that all shooting will stop, that Israel will not attack them, and they will not attack Israel.”

These posts came after Iran said it would freeze talks with the United States. U.S. President Donald Trump had not heard news from Iran that they would stop the talks and said, “I think we’ve been talking too much, if you want to know the truth. I think going silent would be very good and that could be for a long time.”
