Iran / US: Iran Fires Missiles at Israel for First Time Since Ceasefire

Iran fired multiple ballistic missile barrages at Israel, threatening the ceasefire that had held since April 8, 2026. U.S. President Donald Trump said this occurred when the United States was just days away from a broader agreement with Tehran. The attack came hours after Israel struck Hezbollah terror infrastructure in Beirut’s southern Dahiyeh district. Israeli officials said roughly ten ballistic missiles were fired in northern Israel, the Sharon region and Samaria.

U.S. President Donald Trump talked to Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, urging him not to strike back: “I am going to call Netanyahu right now and tell him not to strike back.” He stressed that retaliation could risk jeopardizing negotiations that were coming closer to producing a broader agreement. Trump said, “We are very close to a final deal with Iran. It is going to be a good deal. I don’t want it to blow up because of what is happening now.”

Trump also spoke to Iran: “What I would suggest to Iran – You’ve shot the missiles, that’s enough. Get back to the table and make a deal.”
