Iran/U.S.: Peace Deal with Iran to be Signed in Switzerland

U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed that a peace deal with Iran is “complete,” and that the Strait of Hormuz will be opened. He said, “The deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all. I hereby authorize the toll-free opening of the Strait of Hormuz and simultaneously herewith authorize the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade.”

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif confirmed that a peace deal had been reached. The official signing ceremony for the deal will take place June 19, 2026 in Switzerland. He said:

“Following intensive talks, we are pleased to announce that the Peace Deal between the United States of American and the Islamic Republic of Iran has been reached. The official signing ceremony will be on Friday, 19 June in Switzerland.”
