Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands: Robin Montgomery Wins Title in Walkover

Robin Montgomery of the United States won the women’s title at Hertogenbosch in a walkover after Barbora Krejcikova of the Czech Republic withdrew due to illness. Krejcikova said, “I’m sorry to announce that I have to withdraw from today’s Libema final due to illness. I have been feeling unwell and, after consulting with the medical team, it has become clear that I am not in a condition to compete today.”.

Krejcikova thanked the tournament organizers and congratulated Robin Montogomery for a great performance throughout the week: “I would also like to congratulate Robin for a great week here and wish her the very best for the rest of the season. I am disappointed to end my tournament in this way, but I will focus on recovering as quickly as possible and look forward to returning to competition soon.”

Kamil Majchrzak Wins First Career Title

Kamil Majchrzak of Poland defeated Australia’s Alex de Minaur in three sets, 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 to capture the men’s title at Hertogenbosch, the first title of his career. Majchrzak defeated three top ten opponents on the way to the title, capturing victories over Felix Auger-Aliassime of Canada in the quarterfinals and Russia’s Daniil Medvedev in the semifinals before defeating de Minaur.

“This is a very emotional moment,” Majchrzak said. “I’m not going to lie, so I’ll try not to cry.” He thanked his team and his family: “Without them pushing me every day to the limits, through the good moments and the bad moments in my life, I probably would have quit long ago. I couldn’t ask for better people around me.”

DeMinaur, for his part, congratulated Majchrzak on his performance: “I’d have loved to get the job done today, but congrats to Kamil and his team, not just for today, but for an unbelievable week. You were the better player. It was a great battle. You deserved it.”

Queen’s Club, London: Donna Vekic Wins Queen’s Club Title

Donna Vekic of Croatia defeated Emma Raducanu of Great Britain in straight sets, 6-0, 7-6, to take the women’s title at Queen’s Club in London. Vekic, a lucky loser, was able to compete after losing in the second round of qualifying, as Belinda Bencic withdrew due to injury. Her win at London marked the end of a two-year wait for a title. Vekic dominated in the first set, winning 6-0. Raducanu went out to a 5-2 lead in the second set and, at one point, had two set points to level the match. However, Vekic came back in a tiebreak to win the title in straight sets.

Vekic said of her victory, “Growing up and playing on the tour, I was always jealous of the boys having a chance to play on this court at this amazing club. I’m very grateful that, since last year, we have an opportunity to play here as well. Thank you to everyone who made that happen. We really enjoy it.”

Stuttgart: Ben Shelton Wins All-American Final Against Taylor Fritz

Ben Shelton defeated fellow American Taylor Fritz in three sets, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 to win the men’s title at Stuttgart, his first career title on grass. He was taken to three sets during every match of the tournament. In the final, he took the opening set, while Fritz took the second. The deciding set, and the title, went to Shelton.

Ben Shelton said of his win, “I’m just exhausted, to be honest. A lot of stress. I didn’t make things easy on myself.” He gave credit to Taylor Fritz as well: “Taylor, for a period of the match, was completely unplayable. Being tough, getting through the really tough matches, day in and day out, is the first step to getting to where I want to be.”

The Stuttgart title is the sixth of Ben Shelton’s career and his third of 2026. He joins Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Bublik in winning titles on clay, grass and hard courts in the same season.
