Middle East: Israel Attempts to Stop Genocide in Syria
Written by Edda Bevilacqua
Israel is trying to stop the genocide of Druze Arabs in Syria while, at the same time, being accused of genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. Israel, with the assistance of the United States, delivered medical aid to the Druze community in Suweida, located in southwestern Syria. Israel is acting completely alone in this effort, without assistance from the international community. The aid delivery came after Israel bombed Syria’s military headquarters in Damascus to prevent Syrian forces from attacking the Druze population.
In Gaza, Israel also facilitated aid while being accused of genocide against the Palestinians. Israel is trying to prevent the diversion of aid to Hamas, who has tried to block or steal United Nations aid.
