Bad Homburg, Germany: Jessica Pegula Defeats Iga Swiatek

Top-seeded Jessica Pegula of the United States defeated Poland’s Iga Swiatek in straight sets, 6-4, 7-5, to capture the title in Bad Homburg, Germany. It was Pegula’s third title of 2025 and the ninth of her career. Pegula and Swiatek have met eleven times during their careers, but it was just their first meeting on grass. Pegula won in impressive fashion, saving the only break point she faced and winning more points on both her first and second serves than Swiatek.

Both Pegula and Swiatek have made the quarterfinals at Wimbledon, their personal best performances at the grass court Major.

Mallorca, Spain: Tallon Griekspoor Triumphs in Mallorca

Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands defeated Corentin Moutet of France 7-5, 7-6, to capture his third career title. Moutet started out strong initially, but Griekspoor came back strong to win. Corentin Moutet lost his second career final, having also lost to Andrey Rublev of Russia at Doha in 2020.

Griekspoor’s win marked his return to competition from an injury that forced him to withdraw from his fourth-round match against Alexander Zverev of Germany at the French Open.

Eastbourne, England: Maya Joint Wins Women’s Title at Eastbourne

Australia’s Maya Joint defeated Alexandra Eala of the Philippines in three sets, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6, to capture her second career title. She saved four match points in a competition lasting two hours and 26 minutes. She adds her Eastbourne title to her first title, won on clay in Rabat in May. She has now won titles on both clay and grass.

Eala, who came close to becoming the first player from the Philippines to win a title, cried tears of frustration during the trophy ceremony. She progressed through qualifying to capture victories over Lucia Bronzetti, Jelena Ostapenko, Dayana Yastremska and Varvara Gracheva en route the final. Maya Joint defeated Ons Jabeur and Emma Raducanu on the road to victory.

Taylor Fritz Wins All-American Final at Eastbourne

Taylor Fritz extended his title run at Eastbourne to four, defeating fellow American Jenson Brooksby 7-5, 6-1. Fritz completed the match in one hour, 28 minutes, overcoming an early break of serve. He also won the title in 2019, 2022 and 2024. Fritz has improved his head-to-head record over Brooksby to 2-1 and has won his second grass court title of 2025, adding to his win in Stuttgart, Germany earlier in June.
