Remembering Cats Who Served

On Memorial Day, let us take time to remember some of the cats who served in various wars. During World War I, cats were brought into the trenches to keep the soldiers safe from rats and mice. Sadly, many of these cats died in service to their countries, serving the Allies in World War I.

During World War II, cats were kept as pets and served as mascots. They provided comfort for soldiers suffering from the horrors of war. Cats were painted on airplanes and their pictures appeared on Unit banners.

Let us remember all the special cats who ever served and think of all the cats (and animals) serving now.
