  1. 1. Identify and analyze – The first, most essential step in managing business risks is to identify the risks.  Understand the type of risk that is affecting your business, whether it be financial, operational, reputational, compliance, etc.  You can brainstorm with your employees or a mastermind to determine your risks.  Use historical data, including past incidents, market reports and trends, and risk assessments, along with analytical tools to clarify and identify your business risks.  Categorize your risks then evaluate how the risks may be interconnected.  You can then ascertain which strategies will help you mitigate the risks.
  2. Implement Strategies –   Once you establish which strategies to implement, what is the best way to do so?  Develop a detailed action plan by breaking each strategy into specific steps.  Assign responsibilities to individuals or teams for executing the steps.  Then, set clear timelines, deadlines, and milestones to track the progress of the plan.  You will be able to reduce your risks through processes like varying income streams, enhancing cybersecurity, creating crisis communication plans, and obtaining insurance.
