Over Thirty People Killed in Russian Missile Strike in Ukraine

A Russian missile strike that took place around 10:15 a.m. on Palm Sunday killed at least 32 people in the Ukrainian city of Sumy. Acting Mayor Artem Kobzar said, “On this bright Palm Sunday, our community has suffered a terrible tragedy. Unfortunately, we already know of more than 20 deaths.” A total of 32 people, including children, were killed and an additional 84, including ten children, were wounded.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, “According to preliminary information, dozens of civilians were killed and wounded. Only filthy scum can act like this-taking the lives of ordinary people.”

This is the second large-scale attack in just over a week, following an attack on Kryvyi Rih, Zelenskyy’s birthplace, on April 4. Zelenskyy called for a global response to the attack, saying, “Talks have never stopped ballistic missiles and aerial bombs. What’s needed is an attitude toward Russia that a terrorist deserves.”
