Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy finally disclosed his nation’s real losses in the nearly three-year war against Russia. In a message posted on Telegram, Zelenskyy stated that 43,000 Ukrainian soldiers had been killed and 370,000 had been wounded. His announcement followed an earlier announcement by United States President-elect Donald Trump that 400,000 troops had been lost in Ukraine.
Zelenskyy stated in February, 2024 that 31,000 soldiers had been killed, but he didn’t give away information on any wounded soldiers for fear of giving away such information to the Russians. Russia hasn’t disclosed any information about its own losses since the war began. Zelenskyy also reported that 3,767 soldiers have been returned from Russian captivity since the war began.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and U.S. President-elect Donald Trump met at the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris for a discussion facilitated by French President Emmanuel Macron.
