Zelenskyy Offers India the Opportunity to Hold Next Peace Summit

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has offered India the opportunity to host the next Peace Summit, on condition that they join the Summit Communique. Zelenskyy discussed the issues of the communique with India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. 

Zelenskyy said, “I really believe that the second Peace Summit should be preferably held in a country of the Global South-and we are really transparent. There are countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Türkiye. I absolutely support and have shared the idea with Prime Minister Modi, to hold the Global Peace Summit in India.”

Zelenskyy also discussed the humanitarian issues involved in the Summit, notably the return of Ukrainian children being held in Russia. He said, “As for the children, there are several countries that want to help in this matter. We will be happy if India joins this part of the peace formula for the bringing back of children, the humanitarian part. We are ready for open and honest dialogue.”
